Game Day & BBQ for friends and supporters

What better way to test out the games than with your friends? They would provide a comfortable environment to present the curriculum for the first time and constructive feedback so that we can make improvements in preparation of the 'real thing'.

What better way to get them there than a FREE BBQ?

What better place to have it than Pan Pacific Park next door to the Grove in Mid-Wilshire area?

... instant formula for success ...

meeting with LA's Best ... they run afterschool programs at 180 schools in LA

Shuinn, Jerry, Anne Marie met with representative from LA's BEST.

Went really well ....

Lynette, volunteer coordinator
Richard, sports coordinator

They were really enthusiastic about our program .. had some concerns about funding especially regarding culminating showcase events due to large transportation costs as well as hiring staff to manage event.

The offered us an opportunity to test our program during a Multicultural Games day called 'Target Reads with LA's Best' on Wednesday, Sept. 24th. Of course, we accepted!
We will use this opportunity to showcase the strength of our program to individual sites and build relationships with the schools themselves. We picked TWO schools, one in the valley area and the other in central LA.

Everyone is super-pumped!

updates to come!
